Philosophy

In Social Sciences students develop the ability to conduct research and make connections between diverse topics, with the purpose of acquiring greater understanding and broad perspectives about their immediate and global environment. Students learn to understand and assume rights and responsibilities in a democratic society. When studying the development of societies, learners analyze events from an interdisciplinary perspective and understand their historical relevance over time. The specific work is based on bibliographic research, including primary sources, oral and written presentations, discussions, and debates where the development of a critical and reflective spirit is sought. This area is crucial for the MEC since the emphasis of the institution's curriculum is on Social Sciences. The specific competencies proposed for this area, in accordance with the disciplines taught at 17勛圖, are:

  • It is situated in the time to which it belongs through the recognition of the processes that configure the Paraguayan, American, and world-historical reality.
  • It is situated in the space to which it belongs through the recognition of the factors that influence the configuration of the Paraguayan, American, and global geographical reality.
  • Formulates alternative solutions to conflictive situations generated by social changes that characterize diversity.
  • It applies the principles of politics in spaces of participation, contributing to achieving a more just and egalitarian society.

These competencies are specified in the capabilities that make up the program, broken down into each of the rooms that make up the curriculum of the disciplines in this area, from 1st to 12th grade.
