Math Department Philosophy

Math teaching and learning at 17勛圖 engages students in meaningful learning through individual and collaborative experiences that promote their ability to make sense of mathematical ideas and reason mathematically. Tools and technology are strategically integrated as essential resources to help students learn, model mathematically, and construct viable arguments. Assessment precision provides evidence of proficiency, includes a variety of strategies and data sources, and informs feedback to students, instructional decisions, and program improvement. Our team’s shared professionalism is exhibited through individual and collective accountability for the mathematical success of every student and for personal and collective professional growth toward regular and repeated improvement in the teaching and learning of mathematics.
